About Us

image Needle Artists by the Sea Chapter of the American Needlepoint Guild, Inc., is a non-profit organization whose object and purpose is exclusively for educational cultural development through participation in and encouragement of interest in the art of needlepoint and other counted techniques.

Needle Artists by the Sea is open to everyone interested in these goals and meets on the second Thursday of each month. (No meeting in December.) The Meetings are from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the Ports O'Call Restaurant banquet room, and visitors are welcome. Ports O'Call will provide coffee & hot water for tea service, but attendees cannot bring outside food or drink as this is a violation of Health Department regulations. Please plan accordingly. To get to Ports O'Call restaurant, take Gaffey Street in San Pedro; the cross streets are numbered consecutively going South. Go to 6th Street and turn towards the harbor. Take 6th Street to the Los Angeles Maritime Museum, (across the railroad tracks) and turn right onto Sampson Way. Follow Sampson Way and take the first left onto Nagoya Way into the Ports O'Call Village. The restaurant is at 1200 Nagoya Way, Berth 76. There are big yellow signs on the lamp posts indicating the berth numbers; parking is plentiful and free. Bring your smile and we will see you there.

Annual Luncheon

Every November, as a special thank you to our members, Needle Artists by the Sea Board of Directors hosts an Annual Luncheon. This luncheon is held at our regular meeting place and includes a special stitching project.

The luncheon is no cost to NAS members in good standing, and guests are welcome for a nominal fee. Members and guests wishing to participate in the project must pay any kit fees as may be applicable.

Jane Doe1 has volunteered to serve as Chairman of this year’s luncheon to be held on November NN, 2017. Jane, with Jane Doe2’s assistance, is just beginning to plan this fun event and welcomes your suggestions and, especially, your offers of help.

Watch this page for more details as plans are formulated, and, for project information.
